Belgian TV visited Dubai under request of Flanders Ministry to get an idea of activities of various Belgian companies in Middle East and specially in Dubai.

Dubai Dry Docks is one prime client of TVH, interview taken with Mr.Radu, Mobile Plant Manager and Mr.Devesh, Purchase department along with Roy and Mr.Jonas, Belgian trade office Dubai, also Ms Jeanette Kelly, Dubai Dry Docks Public Relations officer were present.

Kanaal Z, Belgium interviewed SAIF zone administration department and toured the free zone so see the facility. Mr.Khalid and Mr.Humaid from SAIF zone explained various commercial and logistics benefits offered to foreign companies.

Cemat India 2008 (10th-13th December)

TVH Group Thermote and Vanhalst was based at International Pavilion in Cemat India 2008 as a Belgium company precisely at Hall 3 , stall no 3 LL 104 . TVH stand was next to German and Italian participants . In Cemat 2008 are 139 Exhibitors finally present in Hall 3 , however all major Material handling companies like TVH Group , Toyota material Handling , Jungheinrich , TCM , Voltas , Atlet , BT , Tailift , Godrej , Kaup , Cascade , Meyer , Bolzoni are present .Cemat 2008 in general response is mixed compared to Cemat 2007 . TVH resellers in India are quite active did their best to invite existing and new clients to TVH stand . In general the last 2 days are quite busy .

Indian economy is robust with strong fundamentals and domestic demand was still very good till Oct 2008 . Currently , Indian customers are more cautious due to global economic meltdown but market is expected to gain momentum by Feb 2009 as per Indian Finance Ministry forecast . It expects the economy to grow 7 percent in this fiscal year, compared with 9.0 percent last year. Over the last few years, India's gross domestic product accelerated higher than its potential growth, helped by large capital inflows..

Visit of the Flanders Investment & Trade Commissioner

The Flanders Investment & Trade Commissioner Mr. Joannes Bruffaerts visited TVH Middle East office in Sharjah Airport Free Zone, Sharjah, U.A.E. on 16th March 2008. Flanders is the northern part of Belgium, a key economic region in Europe with an export-based economy. Flanders Investment & Trade, Dubai office under Belgium Embassy in Abu Dhabi promotes international business for Flanders-based companies and foreign ventures by establishing contacts with the products, services, and business relationships.

Mr. Bruffaerts is based in Dubai office in last 2 years and strongly believes in networking of businesses. TVH Middle East will exploit the business opportunities by establishing contacts with the following sources:
a) Mr. Frederick De Potter based in Belgian Embassy, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - covers Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain & Qatar
b) Iran Chamber of Commerce & Industry – Mr. Bruffaerts to establish contacts for companies who are procuring equipment parts and services in Dubai
